Turmeric stains. Wear something you can wash, or a silk you do not mind marking. Yellow, marigold, and peach photograph against the paste.

Green, orange, yellow, and peach are the traditional set. Sleeves and cuffs should survive wet henna. Many brides now wear teal or ivory for photographs.
Usually not for the pheras. Cocktail and some city receptions welcome it. When unsure, ask the host family — custom is still local.
